Dustin Tokarski selected to the AHL all-star game

Due to Martin Jones being recalled to the LA Kings recently Dustin Tokarski has been given the chance to show off his game at the AHL all-star game against the Swedish club Färjestad BK. Tokarski has been the back bone of a Bulldogs club that has lacked offensive prowess for long stretches of this season and despite this he has managed to post numbers that are among the best in the AHL. Currently Tokarski ranks 3rd in the AHL with a 2.09 GAA and 4th with a .928 save percentage while holding a 15-9-2 record in 28 starts.

This is a big honor for Tokarski who is the main reason why the Bulldogs are in the hunt for a playoff spot. Without Tokarski starting Hamilton holds a 5-9-2 record which is less than optimal from backups Robert Mayer and Michael Condon.

Previously this season Tokarski was named CCM AHL player of the week and with the way he’s played for Hamilton it’s likely he will collect that award again at some point this season.

Facing off opposite Tokarski will be former(current?) Bulldog Magnus Nygren who will be suiting up for Färjestad BK on February 12th at the Mile One Centre in St. John’s Newfoundland. No other Bulldogs were selected for the team this year but this marks the 6th consecutive all-star game which features a Bulldog, previous selections include Yannick Weber, Frederic St. Denis, P.K. Subban, Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais, Cedrick Desjardins, and Brendan Gallagher.
