The Montreal Canadiens beat the Detroit Red Wings for the fourth time this season. The win dropped the Habs under the Arizona Coyotes, who claimed just a single point in an overtime loss.

Arizona set the perfect scene in Vancouver, allowing Daniel Sedin, on a pass from Henrik Sedin, to end the final home game for the twins with an overtime-winner.

Highlight of the night

Today’s schedule: The Ottawa Senators can lock up second place in the lottery race with a regulation loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. With the top spot locked up, the Buffalo Sabres are free to score as many goals as they can on the Tampa Bay Lightning with no repercussions. The Blues play the Chicago Blackhawks in a tune-up for their one-game play-in on Saturday, with a chance to earn the ROW tiebreaker. And the Dallas Stars play a game knowing that one of the teams ahead of them will eventually claim the spot they plummeted from in recent weeks.
