Habsent Minded Episode 2.23: Rocket-ing up the standings

Jared Book has a solo episode to discuss the most recent week for the Montreal Canadiens.

The podcast starts off with the Laval Rocket’s six game winning streak. After starting the season 0-3-0, they are 9-2-1 and have moved into a playoff spot in a very tough North Division.

Jared discusses what is behind the strong play of late, and what is ahead of them going forward. He also discusses the depth of the organization, and how the Michael McNiven saga — sitting out an entire week — may add urgency for the organization to add an ECHL affiliate.

At the NHL level, Carey Price and Shea Weber rebounded from slow starts to have big weeks, and perhaps most importantly the Canadiens picked up 5/6 points despite not playing their best hockey.

Finally, the episode ends with a look at the women’s hockey talent on display in the city and the growing elite culture in the city and province.

The podcast should be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify if you subscribe to it there.
