For the second consecutive game, Cayden Primeau will get the start in net for the Montreal Canadiens. After five days off for the team, the netminder gets the call in the Habs’ first game back from the Christmas break.
He will have a familiar face in front of him as Jordan Harris returns to action for the first time since November 18. Harris will play alongside Jayden Struble in this game versus Carolina, in a direct swap for Johnny Kovacevic on the third pairing.
The Canadiens enter the game having registered at least a point in five straight matches dating back to their contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins on December 13. The Hurricanes aren’t a team the Canadiens have taken many points off in recent years, so accomplishing that would be another indication that the team is on the right track with its recent play.
