Just two days after clinching their spot in the playoffs, PWHL Montreal has confirmed that all of their home playoff games will be played at Place Bell in Laval.
There were questions about where the games would be played. Their main home at the Verdun Auditorium was quickly seen as being too small, especially with the demand that playoff tickets would have. Christine Roger of Radio-Canada previously reported that the Bell Centre ice would be removed and could not be counted on for games, while Pat Laprade had reported that Place Bell would host playoff games.
Montreal is guaranteed at least one home playoff game. PWHL playoffs will be best-of-five series with two games at the higher seed, followed by two games at the lower seed, and the fifth game going to the higher seed. Montreal is currently in second in the PWHL standings, which would give them home-ice and two guaranteed home games. Minnesota has three games remaining and is three points behind. Montreal has two games remaining. Montreal is also tied with Toronto for first place but has played one more played.
Montreal has had over 6,000 people at each game at Place Bell so far this season and has sold out the 10,172 seats at the last two regular season games it hosted. The average attendance for the four Laval games was 8,831. The first game on a Tuesday night had 6,334, while the first weekend game had 8,646.
