Logan Mailloux named to AHL All-Star Classic

Laval Rocket rookie defender Logan Mailloux will be the team’s lone representative at the 2024 AHL All Star Classic in San Jose.

The North Division has a lot of talented forwards which is likely why Brandon Gignac, who leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and 19 assists in 32 games, was not the team’s representative. Mailloux has had a successful season in Laval with six goals and 14 assists in 32 games. His 20 points puts him 16th among defenders in the AHL, and third among rookies at that position behind only Brandt Clarke and Olen Zellweger.

Mailloux was the Montreal Canadiens’ first-round pick in 2021, 31st overall. The team told him he would be an all-star after their practice earlier today. The team posted the video on social media.

Last year, when Laval hosted the game, the team was represented by Alex Belzile and Anthony Richard, who both are no longer in the organization. The 2024 AHL All-Star Classic will be held February 4 and 5.
