After being the talk of the hockey world for their handling of prospect Cutter Gauthier over the past couple of days, tonight the Flyers organization turns its focus to the player acquired in that trade. Jamie Drysdale makes his debut with the team, and on the top pairing as well.
Drysdale had played 10 games this season with the Anaheim Ducks before the trade, registering five points. Philadelphia is counting on that rate of production continuing as the roster is in desperate need of an offensive catalyst. The Flyers are struggling to surpass two goals per game at the moment, and losing critical points in their bid to make the post-season as a result.
It’s Cayden Primeau they will be trying to solve, a goaltender who also hasn’t allowed teams to score more than two goals in the majority of his road games this year. For a rare time, the Canadiens enter a match as the better offensive club, which will give them the upper hand for a win in the first half of a back-to-back.
