Tonight is the first round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. It takes place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and gets underway shortly after 7:00 p.m. Eastern (Sportsnet, ESPN, TVA Sports).

The biggest trade this week relating to the first round was Montreal trading picks 31 and 37 to the Colorado Avalanche for Alex Newhook. There is a lot of speculation on other moves that may be made throughout the first round.

The Montreal Canadiens hold the fifth pick in the NHL Draft, and there are questions as to who they will take. After Connor Bedard at #1, there are a lot of different directions the draft can go in.
