Tom Gilbert (D, NHL): Gilbert sustained a lower body injury blocking a shot against the Philadelphia Flyers on February 19th, and did not finish the game. On February 22nd, it was announced that he would under ACL reconstruction surgery on his left knee, and will miss six months of action, effectively ending his season. Turns out he was playing through the injury for a couple of months before further injuring it against Philadelphia.
Daniel Carr (LW, NHL): On January 25th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Carr took a weird spill into the boards while chasing down a puck, and injured his right knee. The injury effectively ended his regular season, as the recovery is slated to be three months, but thankfully no surgery was required.
Brian Flynn (RW, NHL): Flynn was injured on February 9th against the Tampa Bay Lightning after his leg got caught during a faceoff and he went down awkwardly. His recovery time is around six to eight weeks, effectively ending his season.
David Desharnais (C, NHL): Desharnais broke his foot on a Tom Gilbert shot from the point on February 15th, against the Arizona Coyotes, and will miss three weeks of play.
Carey Price (G, NHL): Price has began practising in full equipment for the first time since his undisclosed injury on November 25th. There is still no timeline for a return.
Jeff Petry (D, NHL): It was announced on February 25th that Petry would require surgery on a sports hernia, and that his season was over. The recovery period for such a surgery is anywhere up to 12 weeks.
Nathan Beaulieu (D, NHL): Beaulieu crashed into the net against the Nashville Predators on February 23rd, and sustained a lower body injury. He is expected to miss two to three weeks.
Michael Bournival (LW, AHL): No official information has been made available as to the nature of Bournival’s injury, but he has missed the last 13 games for the IceCaps and recent reports suggest that his injury is related to post-concussion symptoms that kept him out of action for the first half of the season.
Markus Eisenschmid (C, AHL): It’s been a bad year for receiving crushing hits for Markus Eisenschmid. On November 13th he was levelled in a game against the Marlies and missed 13 games. On January 29 he was dummied again on an arguably late hit on a zone entry against the Portland Pirates, and was taken out of the game. He has missed the last 13 games for the IceCaps.
Connor Crisp (LW, AHL) has missed the last 47 games for the IceCaps after being injured on October 30. No information has been officially released on the nature of his injury.
