The Three Stars
Leading the Three Stars for a second consecutive week, Martin Reway continues to climb the scoring lists in the QMJHL at a torrid pace. Reway’s scoring was a bit complimentary to start the week, as he would add an empty-net goal to help Gatineau close out a 3-1 victory over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. He would make the previous night’s contributions seem rather trivial in the following game as he would mark the first 5-point game of his career against the Saint John Sea Dogs, scoring two goals and three assists in an 8-4 victory for Gatineau, His current points streak of five games stacks an impressive six goals and nine assists in the span and with 10 goals, 22 assists on the season, he is currently 12th in scoring in the QMJHL. Martin Reway was drafted in the 4th round, 116th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.
2. C Brady Vail
While not the most dangerous offensive talent in the Canadiens farm system, Brady Vail is enjoying a productive year with the WIndsor Spitfires. Vail would begin the week marking a goal and assist as the Spitfires would mark a 6-0 whitewash of the Mississauga Steelheads. He would score a goal and two assists in the following game in which the Spitfires would edge the Peterborough Petes 5-4. Vail would pick up an assist in his final game of the week, a 4-1 victory over the Oshawa Generals. He has scored at least one point in nine of his last 10 games, Brady Vail was drafted in the 4th round, 94th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft.
3. LW Tim Bozon
After a very cold start to the season, Tim Bozon has shown signs that he is starting to heat up this past week with the Kootenay Ice. Bozon would open the week scoring a goal and assist in a 5-1 victory for Kootenay over the Calgary Hitmen. He would go without a point in his next game, as would the rest of Kootenay as they would be shut out by the Swift Current Broncos 3-0. He would notch two goals in his next game, but unfortunately it was not quite enough as the Prince Albert Raiders would take a 3-2 victory over Kootenay. His final game of the week would have him pick up a pair of assists as Kootenay would rout the Saskatoon Blades 6-1. Tim Bozon was drafted in the 3rd round, 64th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft.
