Zach Fucale reassigned to the Brampton Beast

Carey Price’s return to the ice has once again caused a trickle effect between the Montreal Canadiens, St. John’s IceCaps, and the Brampton Beast.

Earlier this month it was announced that Price is finally healthy enough to make his Habs season debut. With the return of their star netminder and the fantastic job that Al Montoya has been doing in his absence, Charlie Lindgren, who was backing Montoya while Price was out, was sent back down to the IceCaps.

There was a lot of movement once it was suspected Price would return. Bryan Pitton, who was on a 25-game PTO and played just one game with the IceCaps, returned to the Brampton Beast. On October 17, veteran Yann Danis was signed to a contract with the IceCaps, which lead everyone to wonder what will happen once Lindgren returns.

Now that the dust has settled, Zachary Fucale will be joining Pitton in the ECHL.

Fucale’s stats weren’t overly impressive by the end of last season, nor was his record (16-19-3), even though the rookie was thrown into more games than expected last year, again, due to the trickle effect of Price’s injury.

So far this year, his numbers haven’t improved. He had a rocky start during the season opener against the Hartford Wolf Pack on October 14th, but had a much better follow up game, earning third star in a 2-1 loss to the Providence Bruins.

Hopefully this move is just what Fucale needs to hone his skills, and work his way back up.
