The Montreal Canadiens aren’t done bolstering their organizational depth, adding another left-handed defenceman who can play in either the AHL or NHL.
After signing Matt Taormina earlier in the day, former Boston Bruins defender Joe Morrow has been brought into the fold.
The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way contract with free agent defenseman Joe Morrow for the 2017-18 season.

Like Taormina, Morrow will primarily be used in the AHL as one the Laval Rocket’s blue-liners, and may get the odd call-up during the season, though will be behind Taormina in that regard.
He hasn’t been a particularly offensive defenceman in his professional career, more focused on defensive aspects of the game. He’ll help a group of young defencemen in Laval next year that will include rookies Noah Juulsen and Simon Bourque to adjust to the next level.
