P.K. Subban stretchered off, taken to hospital after scary collision with Alexei Emelin

The 2015-16 season has been one of frustrating injuries for the Montreal Canadiens, and, tonight in Montreal, P.K. Subban sustained one of the most terrifying of all.

Going off balance while following his check around the the corner, Subban’s head collided with Alexei Emelin, who was coming over for defensive support.

Subban immediately dropped to the ice grabbing the back of his neck, and was quickly met by the Canadiens’ medical staff. He was taken off the ice on a stretcher after several minutes spent securing him for transport.

The nature of the injury is not known at this time. Subban was alert and able to move his arms and legs on the way off the ice.

Subban was awared the Jean Béliveau Trophy for his charitable contributions to the city of the Montreal prior to the contest.
