The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard to a two-year entry-level contract.

Harvey-Pinard was eligible to play in the AHL this season because he was 21 after the 2019-20 season. Because he was only drafted in 2019, the team had until June 1, 2021 to sign him to an NHL contract. He was the team’s seventh-round pick (201st overall) in the 2019 Draft.
He played the 2020-21 on an AHL contract. His entry-level contract will go from 2021-22 until the 2022-23 season.
In 32 AHL games this season, Harvey-Pinard had eight goals and 11 assists. He played in all situations for Joël Bouchard’s Rocket including the penalty kill and the power play.
Only 5’9” and 171 pounds, Harvey-Pinard is a tenacious forechecker and has a good amount of skill that the Canadiens see potential in.
He is the fourth player from the 2019 class to sign their entry-level contract, joining Cole Caufield, Gianni Fairbrother, and Arsen Khisamutdinov. The Canadiens have until June 1 to sign Jacob LeGuerrier and Kieran Ruscheinski, until 2023 to sign Mattias Norlinder and Frederick Dichow, and 2024 to sign Jayden Struble and Rhett Pitlick.
