Paquette is more than familiar with the Montreal area, having played his Junior career for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning organization. There he spent seven seasons, before being traded to Ottawa in the summer of 2020.
He played just nine games for the Senators, adding one assist, before being shipped to Carolina where he tallied three goals and four assists in 38 games.
