Montreal has arrived in Seattle without a win on this five-game road trip, having scored just five goals in the first three contests. But the Kraken haven’t been much better, providing fans at Climate Pledge Arena few opportunities to cheer in recent weeks, and indeed all season long as they rank 28th in home goals per game.

One team’s goal total is going to stand up for a win tonight, however, whether the final is 2-1, 1-0 … or 8-7 as things sometimes go when a pattern appears obvious. The Habs are aiming to get a first win since March 12 versus Columbus, the Kraken will by trying to snap a seven-game winless streak that started with the last Canadian team they faced, the Winnipeg Jets, on March 8.

Cayden Primeau gets the start for the second non-playoff team the Habs face on the trip, his 16th start of the season as he tries to get back an even record on the year. A couple of line changes have been made by acting head coach Trevor Letowski after his remote discussions with Martin St-Louis. Tanner Pearson and Johnny Kovacevic will both be healthy scratches, meaning Jesse Ylönen comes back in for the first time in six games, and Jayden Struble gets back in the lineup after sitting for the previous two matches.
