Montreal Canadiens Prospects Roundup 4

Sweden

Name League Team Timeline Games Goals Assists Points
Sebastian Collberg Elitserien Frölunda Last Week 1 0 0 0
Total 27 5 3 8
World Juniors Sweden Last Week 0 0 0 0
Total 6 4 2 6
Allsvenskan Örebro HK
Last Week 0 0 0 0
Total 15 6 2 8

Only one game for Collberg last week, and although he was a +1, he’s now gone 4 games without a point. Nothing compared to the lack of production we used to see from Collberg in the Elitserien, but all the same it would be nicer to see him get some points since he’s the Habs’ top forward prospect outside of the NHL.

No production from Nygren in his two games this week. He’s been a solid contributor over 42 games for Färjestads.

Nice to see another goal from Pribyl, who is now on a 4 game goal scoring streak. He has 8 points over that time.

Brady Vail OHL Windsor Spitfires Last Week 2 1 0 1
Total 52 16 26 42

A loyal EOTP contributor noted last week that Brady Vail has been forced into a role fairly unfamiliar to him due to a number of injuries on the Spitfires. No, it’s not more offensive minutes, he’s being forced to play as a defenseman. As you can imagine, he’s not setting the world on fire in this new role right away, but apparently he’s not hurting Windsor either. Another goal this week is nice to see from Vail, as he shows off his versatility on his hurting team.

Olivier Archambault QMJHL Drumm. Volitgeurs
Last Week 3 2 2 4
Total 49 22 25 47

Seems like Archambault either has a great week or a terrible one, but it would be nice to see more great weeks from him. So far they’ve been about equal for the inconsistent 19 year old. He’s fighting for a contract with a club stocked full of prospects. He just has to show more.

Charles Hudon QMJHL Chicoutimi Last Week 2 0 0 0
Total 43 25 27 52

4 games without a point and 6 without a goal is the worst stretch Hudon has had this season. I guess that means Bozon leaps ahead of him for now as the most impressive CHL prospect

Darren Dietz WHL Saskatoon Blades Last Week 3 0 3 3

After exploding offensively last week, Dietz decided to keep it going and rattled off a point per game week for Saskatoon. Dietz is also a +11 in his last 5 games.

Dalton Thrower WHL Saskatoon Blades Last Week 3 0 0 0
Total 38 4 15 19

Not sure what to think with Thrower right now. Coming into the season it seemed like the Canadiens had drafted an offensively gifted defenseman who was one of the toughest guys in the WHL. Seems like he’s really only been successful on the toughness front this year.

Tim Bozon WHL Kamloops Blazers Last Week 2 0 2 2

Not the ridiculously dominant week we’re getting used to seeing, but you still can’t really complain about a point per game.

Back in the lineup after being out for a month with injury, hopefully Bennett can get back up to where he was to begin the season.

Another solid week from Kristo, who’s likely the closest to the NHL out of everyone in this group.

3 times this season I’ve asked MacMillan to pick up his play on Saturday morning, and by the end of the day he’s scored. So uh… Pick up your play, Mark! Let’s go for 4?

Sprague Ribinsoin Liga Süpa Glöorpf HK Last Week 1 9 1 10
Total 37 237 1 238

In the midst of a record breaking 9 goal game in the Süpa, Sprague was sprung on a 2-on-0 breakaway in the 3rd period. He mishandled the puck much like Tomas Plekanec did against Boston on Wednesday. Luckily, you would think, his linemate was there to put the puck home. However due to the issues Sprague has with his father, he couldn’t handle being awarded an assist for the first time in his career at any level. Spraque broke his stick over his teammate’s wrist in a fit of rage and stormed off the ice. Some fans swear to have heard him yell “Fuck you dad, I’m not like you!” as he was walking down the tunnel towards the locker room. After the game, an impromptu press conference was held where the red faced general manager of Glöorpf HK announced that Sprague had decided to retire from the sport.
