After cutting four players this morning, the Canadiens place their first cuts on waivers
The Montreal Canadiens final roster is starting to take shape.
After releasing four players who did not require waivers this morning, the team will place five on waivers today, meaning there are still 34 players vying for an NHL roster spot.

Michael McCarron, the team’s first-round pick in 2013, is the most notable player on waivers. He has two goals and six assists in 69 career NHL games. He had one assist in 18 NHL games last season. He had seven goals and 17 assists in 54 AHL games.
The players will be assigned to the Laval Rocket should they go through waivers
