Game 49: Montreal Canadiens @ Pittsburgh Penguins
Start time: 7:00 PM EST / 4:00 PM PST
In Canada: CBC, CityTV (English), TVA Sports (French)
In the Penguins region: Sportsnet Pittsburgh
Streaming: CBC Gem, ESPN+, Sportsnet+
After getting an early offensive outburst in their last game which helped snap a three-game losing streak, the Canadiens have travelled to Pittsburgh for one final game before the bye week. They’ll be taking on a Penguins team that should be desperate for a win given their place in the standings, though with more losses than wins since the Christmas break, there is growing concern among the team’s fanbase that it’s going to be a second consecutive year with no playoff appearance.
The Canadiens’ lineup looks a bit different from the one that beat the Islanders on Thursday. Brendan Gallagher will be serving the first of five games he has been suspended for, and Martin St-Louis has also scratched Arber Xhekaj after the defenceman took two penalties in the last game. Jordan Harris is back in the lineup, and Jesse Ylönen also reclaims a place with Gallagher out.
