Out with a pectoral tear since December 30, Christian Dvorak has worked hard over the past few months to get back into game shape. He will avoid missing nine consecutive months of action by getting back in the lineup for the final handful of games the Habs will play.

Having a rested body in the lineup is welcome for a team that is in a tough stretch to close out the season with few off days. They are most recently coming off a back-to-back versus the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers than sapped a lot of the energy, and that has been the case often as they try to fend off top offensive clubs.

That description doesn’t apply to tonight’s opponent, nor are the Flyers particularly good defensively at the moment. The skaters are doing their part, holding teams to about 23 shots per contest over the past few weeks, but poor goaltending has been getting exposed as the games ramp up in importance. Tonight’s game is a chance for everyone to add to their season totals, and an opportunity for Dvorak to enjoy some immediate success in his return, but they’ll still need to be wary of a desperate club that needs to earn the two points.
