On Sunday afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens announced that David Savard was ready to come off Injured Reserve. To make way for his return, Mattias Norlinder, who did not get into a game during his recall, was reassigned to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

Savard had only played five games before blocking a shot with his hand on October 23, missing the Habs’ next 22 matches. Recovered from that injury, he’s expected to be in the lineup tonight versus the Nashville Predators. Martin St-Louis will decide after tonight’s warm-up which defenceman will be sitting out.

The team has also revealed that Tanner Pearson will not be playing tonight game, coincidentally also out after blocking a shot with his hand. Michael Pezzetta, who has been taking turns with Joel Armia on the fourth line in recent games, will draw into the lineup tonight.

Jake Allen gets the start in goal, his first since December 2. He in winless in his last six starts and eager for a victory.
