No pressure on Lucas Condotta, but he gets set to play his second NHL game with a goal-per-game stat line to maintain, scoring in his league debut a season ago. Tonight he will be playing on the fourth line, and Martin St-Louis hopes to have four serviceable trios to deploy versus the New York Islanders.
New York is 1-1 since Patrick Roy took over head-coaching duties, losing despite outshooting the Vegas Golden Knights 42-27 on Tuesday. Habs goaltenders are no strangers to that type of shot total, and tonight it will be Samuel Montembeault back in the net to face it, his first start since getting pulled versus Boston five days ago in a game he’d rather forget. He has yet to lose back-to-back games in regulation through 21 starts this season, and he has a bit of motivation to keep that streak going with the goalie he looked up to growing up standing behind the opponent’s bench.
