Report: Montreal Canadiens didn’t receive “anything close” for Max Pacioretty

According to Louis Jean, the Montreal Canadiens didn’t receive anything worth considering trading captain Max Pacioretty.

There were rumours surrounding the Canadiens captain leading up to the deadline, especially after Sportsnet started mentioning specific teams and players. However, it doesn’t appear that the Canadiens received anything of note offered to them.

This is a good thing because it means that Marc Bergevin and the Habs brass value Pacioretty as an asset worth asking a lot for. Of course, this does mean that they can revisit a trade during the off-season, when teams may be willing to raise their offers.

The Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, and Florida Panthers were all linked to Pacioretty in the past week.
