The Montreal Canadiens have won an NHL Draft Lottery

The Montreal Canadiens have moved up in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft after winning one of the three lotteries.

Holding the fourth-best chance of claiming the first overall selection, and a less than 30% chance of moving up, Montreal beat the odds to gain a better position for the first round that will be held on June 22 in Dallas. The win gives them an opportunity to add a player who could be ready to join the team next season.

The positions of the top-three teams will be unveiled later tonight. We will publish the result as soon as it is announced.

In the meantime, catch up on our profiles of the players deemed by Bob McKenzie to be the “Big Four.”
