Game 38: Montreal Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres

Some higher power was determined to knock Josh Anderson out of action on Tuesday night in Dallas. He hobbled to the bench after blocking a shot, nearly has his nose lopped off by a high stick, then had to be essentially carried to the locker room after having his weighted leg knocked while skating in the neutral zone. But, miraculously, he was back at practice this morning, and appears ready to go for this one.
The Canadiens have not made any recalls at forward to fill out the lines, so it seems the team will continue along with the same formation it’s used for the past few games, with only 11 forwards. That plan is working well so far, but you have to think some additions will be made eventually.
Jake Allen gets the call in goal for this one after back-to-back starts for Samuel Montembeault to end the road trip. He will face Devon Levi, who has been struggling in recent games to keep pucks out of his net, which is good news for the Habs’ chances of stringing consecutive wins together.
