Michael Bournival suffered a concussions on February 6th versus the Canucks, when an errant stick from teammate Dale Weise knocked him out of the game.
His recovery has been steady, although he’s been out a little longer than most had previously predicted. Initially the contact did not look that bad, however Bournival immediately started showing symptoms of a concussion, including a glazed look in his eyes and a lack of coordination while trying to get to the dark room.
After practicing with the Habs a few times wearing a no-contact jersey, the Canadiens have decided it’s time to send him to Hamilton on a conditioning stint.

Not only has Bournival missed over a month of action, but the team has an excess of bodies on the roster at the moment, which makes the decision to assign Bournival to the AHL an easy one despite his play at the NHL level being more than adequate.
In 50 games of action with the Habs, Bournival has scored 6 goals and added 7 assists, while playing primarily in a 4th line role.
Bournival played the entire 2012-13 season with the Bulldogs, where he produced 10 goals and 20 assists in 69 games.
