Martin Reway, Canadiens taking time to consider his future

Last night it was reported that Martin Reway did not make the trip to Rochester with the rest of the Laval Rocket.

Today, we have the reason.

We need to be clear that we do not know whether this is related to Reway’s health, that kept him out of hockey last season, or if it is related to his play. Reway admitted to The Athletic that he was struggling with the style of play.

The news was reported via a statement from the Rocket this morning. The official statement calls it a “mutual agreement with the organization for a period of reflection on his future.”

Reway has played five of the eight games this season, each time he was scratched was to avoid two games in two nights. He has two assists in the five games.

The Rocket have lost two straight games and face the Rochester Americans in the second half of a home-and-home that started on Wednesday in Laval.
