Canadiens confirm Harvey-Pinard out 6-8 weeks, Harris out indefinitely

With a sequence of tweets today, the Montreal Canadiens confirmed the duration of absence for several players amid a recent flurry of injuries. For starters, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, who has already missed time with a lower-body injury, will officially be out for 6-8 weeks.

But he has not been the only player to miss time recently, as Jordan Harris has also been out, and his absence is listed as indefinite.

In Harris’s case, he’ll be leaving the team to seek further evaluation, and the team has indicated another recall will be coming from the Laval Rocket, presumably to join the big club at some point during their California road trip.

The team has already recalled Jayden Struble, so there is no word whether they’ll be adding another defenseman or a forward for the road trip. We’ll have to wait and see, but some candidates could include Logan Mailloux, William Trudeau, or Brady Keeper on the defensive side. Up front, Joel Armia, Joshua Roy, and Sean Farrell all seem like players in line for an opportunity.

We will update later today when the name is known.
