Not long ago, after it was announced that Jonathan Drouin had requested a trade away from the Tampa Bay Lightning, we had a look at what acquiring him might entail for the Canadiens. It was merely speculative, because at the time there was no tangible link between him and the Habs.
Now there is. During the first period against the Devils, Brian Wilde reported that the Canadiens are definitely in on the young forward. Not only that, but that they are aggressively pursuing him.
Je peux confirmer via une très bonne source que le CH tente agressivement de faire l’acquisition de Drouin. #Habs #Canadiens

Acquiring Drouin won’t be easy to do, especially considering that his rights are currently held by a division rival. They’re not just going to hand him over easily, but the idea of Drouin joining the Habs is definitely tantalizing.
We’ll have to wait and see, but the recent flurry of trade activity in the NHL should keep us all on our toes, knowing now that Marc Bergevin is actively trying to jump in.
