Canadiens vs. Flyers Game Thread, roster, lines, and how to watch

The Canadiens have had four days to relish the Winter Classic victory over the Bruins. In fact, they were able to go home for a couple of days before getting on a plane to Philadelphia yesterday, giving them some much needed time to appreciate the win and move on from what was one of the toughest months in franchise history.

Friday’s game at Gillette Stadium was a step in the right direction for this team, with Brendan Gallagher back in the lineup, the Canadiens were able to score five goals in a game for the first time since November 25 in a 5-1 win over the New York Rangers.

The Flyers are coming off a three-game California road-trip in which they lost all three games in regulation. The Flyers are currently second-last in the Metropolitan Division, four points up on the last-place Columbus Blue Jackets. The Flyers have a collection of weapons up front that still make them a dangerous teams, with Claude Giroux leading the charge for his team with 29 points, and a solid starting goaltender in Steve Mason, but have been struggling in other components of their game.

The major difference between the Habs and Flyers is the Canadiens’ superior secondary scoring, as the Canadiens boast eight players with 20 points or more, whereas the Flyers only have three (Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds).

Ben Scrivens gets the start tonight, as the Canadiens will play at home against the Devils tomorrow night giving Mike Condon the night off after a stellar performance Friday.

The puck drops at 7:30 PM EST.
