Jarred Tinordi knocked out cold in AHL fight

Utica’s Andrey Pedan was way too much to handle for Jarred Tinordi, and the result was a knockout punch, which left Tinordi motionless and bloodied on the ice. The fight took place immediately following a faceoff.

Pedan, a New York Islanders third-round pick, stands at 6’4″, 215 lbs and leads Utica in penalty minutes. Tinordi, who is two inches taller, and roughly the same weight, was in trouble from the start of the fight. He eventually caught a punch flush to the jaw, as Pedan made no effort to stop his head from slamming on the ice. He had to be helped off the ice by the Bulldogs medical staff.

It’s one thing if a player gets injured in a heated battle, but it’s another thing to watch a talented prospect go down due to a staged fight. Neither are good, but the latter adds insult to injury. Hamilton has two designated fighters on their roster, Jack Nevins & Connor Crisp, although it has to be said that Tinordi is no slouch, and generally finds himself on the winning side of fights.

We’re yet to get a major update on his status.

The footage is quite violent. Please view at your own discretion. Hopefully Jarred is going to be okay.
