After preparing to play just his fifth game since a wrist injury knocked him out of action for nearly three months, Jonathan Drouin determined he was unable to go after warmups. The Canadiens announced he wouldn’t play on Saturday night, out with a lower-body injury.

Drouin went to the dressing room in last night’s game in Pittsburgh after a hit into the end boards, but did return to play the rest of the game. Perhaps whatever led to that is still nagging him. Or it could have been something he carried back into play from working himself back into playing shape, which would help explain why he was such a non-factor over the past week.
