IceCaps sign David Broll to one year extension
The veteran forward has been a fan favourite in St. John’s this year, and will make the move to Laval
In a surprising bit of news, the Canadiens AHL affiliate has inked veteran grinder David Broll to a one year AHL player contract extension. This means the new Laval Rocket officially have their first roster player for their inaugural season.

In 46 games with the IceCaps this year, Broll has four goals, two assists and 87 penalty minutes. While playing primarily in the bottom six for St. John’s, he’s become a fan favourite and quickly earned the trust of Sylvain Lefebvre. By all accounts he’s an outstanding leader in a very young IceCaps locker room

While not the biggest point producer, he manages to make his presence felt on the ice each game, and in limited power play time has scored some important goals. His hard hitting style, and willingness to stick up for his teammates has endeared him to fans in St. John’s and will likely do the same for the new market in Laval.
