Canadiens recall Victor Mete, reassign Noah Juulsen to the Laval Rocket

Before heading out on a lengthy road trip to end 2018, the Montreal Canadiens have shaken up their defensive roster a bit. The team has recalled Victor Mete from the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League, and sent down Noah Juulsen to make room in the NHL.

In 23 NHL games this year, Mete compiled four assists, and was sent down to Laval to play a larger role and develop his offensive game. In seven games for the Rocket he tallied one goal and three assists, while manning the first power-play unit for Joël Bouchard.

Juulsen has one goal and four assists this year for the Canadiens, and is coming off a facial injury after taking multiple pucks to the face against the Washington Capitals. He returned to the lineup wearing a protective facemask, much like Nicolas Deslauriers did this year.

Montreal heads out to Colorado this week and will also stop in Arizona and Las Vegas for games, while Laval welcomes the Toronto Marlies for a two-game set this weekend.
