Brendan Gallagher back on the ice

Brendan Gallagher stepped onto the Brossard ice on Monday morning for the first time since an injury sustained on November 22nd against the Islanders, which required surgery to fix two fractures in his hand.

The initial prognosis for recovery was six weeks, however three weeks later he’s already on the ice training with Montreal Canadiens strength and conditioning coach Pierre Allard.

Clearly, Gallagher still has a long road ahead of him, but it’s encouraging to see him back on the ice this quickly. He did not take part in the full practice with his teammates.

In other news, Torrey Mitchell returned to practice, which indicates that he should be ready to play versus the Sharks on Tuesday night.
