Seattle was in one of the three first-round series to go to a seventh game, and now they will participate in the only one of the second round. The new team already has the experience of two post-season wins while facing elimination, and is now eager to get a third.
In Game 6, the Kraken had goals from five players to get a 6-3 win, another display of the depth they were able to accumulate in the expansion draft and build upon through the entry draft (Matty Beniers was one of the scorers) and other transactions (Eeli Tolvanen was another) over the past couple of seasons.
Dallas, with its current core that has been in the Stanley Cup conversation for years, is trying to get beyond the second round for just the second time since 2007-08. They will need to match Seattle’s energy and get a more typical performance from Jake Oettinger to avoid another early exit.
