The first team to face elimination in the 2023 post-season is the New York Islanders, which was also the first team to make their splash ahead of the trade deadline by acquiring Bo Horvat even before the All-Star Game. Horvat finally got on the board in Game 4 with his first goal, but it came at 5-1 and wasn’t enough to prevent New York from getting into the situation it now faces.

Game 5: Dallas Stars vs. Minnesota Wild

Series tied 2-2

While the Hurricanes-Islanders series may be wrapping up, you can say the Stars-Wild matchup is just getting started. It’s now a best-of-three with the Stars holding home-ice advantage, however there has been little advantage at all for teams playing in their own arenas this spring: visiting teams had rattled off 11 wins in a row before the Kraken broke the streak in overtime last night.

Game 5: Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings

Series tied 2-2

How to watch

Start time: 9:30 PM EDT / 6:30 PM PDT
In Canada: CBC, Sportsnet (English) TVA Sports (French)
In the U.S.: ESPN
In the Kings region: KCOP-13
Streaming: ESPN+, NHL Live,Sportsnet Now

The Oilers averted disaster in Game 4, rallying from a 3-0 deficit after the first period to get the game to overtime, where Zach Hyman scored to tie the series up. The scene shifts back to Edmonton with the Oilers looking for a better start to keep from having to pull off such a comeback again.
