2019 NHL Entry Draft: The Canadiens select Arsen Khisamutdinov at 170th overall

After waiting a little while, Montreal returned to the podium at 170th overall to select 6’3’’ forward Arsen Khisamutdinov.

The large Russian saw nine games worth of KHL action with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, tallying five points, but he spent most of his year in the MHL where he posted over a point per game, but also a large amount of penalty minutes. Being 21 years old comes with some physical advantages in a younger league, he’ll be looking to crack the KHL lineup regularly next year.

We’ll have some video analysis of Khisamutdinov later today.
