2019 NHL Entry Draft: The Canadiens select Rhett Pitlick at 131st overall

With their fifth pick on day two of the NHL Draft the Montreal Canadiens have added a forward with the 131st overall pick. Montreal originally acquired this pick from the Edmonton Oilers at last year’s draft when they shipped Hayden Hawkey to the Oilers.

Rhett Pitlick played in both the US High School system, and USHL last year. For Chaska High he had 61 points in 25 games, while compiling five points in seven USHL games. He’ll head off to the University of Minnesota in 2020, joining a true NCAA powerhouse. Next year however he’ll be back to play in the USHL, helping him prepare for the jump to the collegiate level.

More on Pitlick will be coming soon.
