Everything you need to know about today’s games
Group A Preliminary Games
10:15 AM ET: Russia (4-0-1-0, 13 pts, 2nd) vs Slovakia (2-0-2-1, 8 pts, 5th)
Russia needs a win here to set up a winner-take-all showdown against Sweden on Tuesday for top spot in the group. Slovakia is coming off of a tough overtime loss to Sweden and will look to avoid finishing fifth in the group which would set up a matchup against, likely, Finland, Canada or the host Denmark in the quarters.
The game will be shown on TSN 1,4 and RDS in Canad and NHL Network in the USA.
2:15 PM ET: Czech Republic (2-3-0-1, 12 pts, 3rd) vs Austria (1-0-1-4, 4 pts, 7th)
Austria clinched a quarterfinal appearance by winning their last game against Belarus. The Czech Republic are sneakily one of the top teams in the tournament, losing only once - to Russia.
The game will be shown on TSN 5 in Canada.
Group B Preliminary Games
10:15 AM ET: Norway (0-1-1-4, 3 pts, 7th) vs South Korea (0-0-0-6, 0 pts, 8th)
South Korea needs a regulation win to avoid relegation in their first year in the top division. Norway will stay up with a point of any kind. Norway lost to the United States 9-3 and has struggled all tournament.
The game will be on TSN 5 in Canada.
2:15 PM ET: Canada (3-0-1-1, 10 pts, 4th) vs Latvia (2-1-1-1, 9 pts, 5th)
Kyle Turris will likely make his tournament debut after being added to the team as Canada looks to fight back and move their way up the group. With Finland’s loss to Germany, the door has opened once again for Canada. The Canadians should be the favourite in this one, but a Latvia win would see them pass Canada in the group as they have had a great tournament under Bob Hartley.
The game will be on TSN 1, 3, 4 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.
All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Go in Canada, but it requires a subscription to TSN. NHL Network in the US will be showing games as well, but listings did not always confirm which games will be shown.
