2014-15 Game 42: Montreal Canadiens vs Columbus Blue Jackets

The Habs seem to be on the verge of some very unwanted regression, so they’ll be needing to rack up some wins before the All-Star break, especially with Boston all of a sudden winning games, and Florida being no slouches in that department either.

Alexei Emelin could be on the outside looking in, after a series of particularly terrible games that have only put the exclamation point on a disastrous season, meaning that Mike Weaver will draw back into the lineup after being out with an injury since December sixth. It’s unknown how long Michel Therrien will ice a defense pairing with two players who both shoot right if Weaver does play, so expect the possibility of Tom Gilbert and Sergei Gonchar switching places.

The Canadiens will also be icing entirely new line combinations after a second straight loss, with most of them making absolutely no sense at all, but Max Pacioretty playing with Tomas Plekanec is an interesting idea for a tough minutes line that could really give opponents fits.
