World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: December 27, 2015

The tournament’s second day is a little calmer as only two games are scheduled, including the first game for last year’s tournament surprises Denmark and Slovakia.

Group A Preliminary Game

1 PM ET: Denmark vs Switzerland

Last year’s tournament darlings, Denmark, make their tournament debut and after losing two pre-tournament games 5-0, they are facing probably their most important game. A loss for Denmark here would all but guarantee the relegation round unless they can get a result against Canada, USA or Sweden. Switzerland is coming off of a 8-3 loss against Sweden and will possibly be missing at least one player to suspension. The game will be shown on TSN 1/3/4 and RDS2 in Canada, NHL Network in the United States.

Group B Preliminary Game

9 AM ET: Belarus vs Slovakia

Slovakia makes their tournament debut and will need to find new heroes without Martin Reway and Denis Godla who led them to a bronze medal last year. Belarus is coming off of a tough loss to hosts Finland and will look to rebound in back-to-back games. If they can get similar goaltending, they might be able to surprise. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4 and RDS2 in Canada, NHL Network in the US.
