Winter Olympics 2014: Men’s Hockey Schedule for February 14

Game 1: Czech Republic vs Latvia

At 3am Eastern Standard Time, wake up or don’t go to sleep because Tomas Plekanec and the Czech Republic are looking to rebound against Latvia after dropping a 4-2 decision to Sweden. Latvia fell in the final minute to Switzerland after playing an amazing defensive game and holding a 0-0 tie for the entire match. The Czechs are a sterner offensive test than the Swiss were, but they’re also weaker in goal. You can watch the game on CBC in Canada, MSNBC in the USA, and online on both sites. You can find the webstream on CBC here.

Game 2: Sweden vs Switzerland

Two undefeated teams meet at 7:30am Eastern Standard Time as Sweden faces off against Switzerland. This game should be tougher for both opponents, as the Swiss seem built specifically to upset a high flying offensive team like the Swedes, but at the same they haven’t faced a club like Sweden yet. You can watch the game on CBC in Canada, NBCSN in the USA, and online on both sites. You can find the webstream on CBC here.

Game 3: Canada vs Austria

At 12pm Eastern Standard Time the big game begins, as Roberto Luongo, P.K. Subban, and Matt Duchene get their shots at making the roster for the remainder of the tournament when Canada takes on Austria. Canada will be looking for a more complete effort against Austria, and hoping to avoid the defensive struggles Finland experienced against them earlier. You can watch the game on CBC in Canada, on the USA channel in… the USA, and online on both sites. You can find the webstream on CBC here.

Game 4: Finland vs Norway

Also at 12pm Eastern Standard Time, the likely least watched game of the day will take place as Finland and Norway face direct broadcasting competition with Canada. The Finns are hoping to tighten up defensively after making Tuukka Rask of all people look like a sieve in an 8-4 win over Austria. You can watch the game on CBC in Canada, MSNBC in the USA, and online on both sites. You can find the webstream on CBC here.
