Tomas Fleischmann invited to the Canadiens training camp on a pro try out

The Habs have announced that they’ve invited veteran Tomas Fleischmann to their training camp.

Fleischmann, 31, is coming off a a 27-point season, where he split time between the Florida Panthers and the Anaheim Ducks. Due to his recent downtick in offensive production, Fleischmann will be looking to prove that he still belongs in the NHL, and could add an interesting element to Montreal’s bottom lines if he impresses during training camp.

He can play both down the middle and on the wing, although at the moment it’s unclear where he would fit in the roster. As it stands the Habs already have too many players vying for a spot.

Regardless, it doesn’t cost the Canadiens a thing to offer him an invite, and at the very least it will add a little more competition in camp.
