The Montreal Canadiens have selected Sam Harris, a winger who played his college prep years with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, with the 133rd pick of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Harris is committed to the University of Denver for the 2023-24 season, but put up 56 points in 56 games with his USHL club this season, including 30 goals. Both of those totals led the team, by a significant margin.
Harris will have time to develop over the course of his collegiate career before becoming a legitimate NHL prospect. The Canadiens are hoping his offensive game continues to blossom at the higher level of competition.
