2023 NHL Draft: Montreal Canadiens select Quentin Miller with pick 128

Jonathan Roy

The Montreal Canadiens have selected another goaltender with the 128th pick of the 2023 NHL Draft, this time turning to the QMJHL to take Quentin Miller.

Miller played the the Memorial Cup champion Quebec Remparts this season, the backup to William Rousseau. Miller’s numbers were slightly better than Rousseau’s on the season, with a .911 save percentage in 20 games played.

The Canadiens needed to address the goaltending depth in the prospect pool, and have made a rare choice to select two netminders in the same draft class. The hope will be that one of Miller and Jacob Fowler can emerge as an option to be a starter in the future.
