Report: Max Pacioretty played through broken foot

Eric Engels unleashed a bombshell during the first intermission broadcast with Kyle Bukauskas that Max Pacioretty played through a broken foot in November.

Much has been said about the struggles of the Habs’ captain, and this would explain that quite a bit. Pacioretty has seven goals and 11 assists this season in 26 games. He has also been moved up and down the lineup so far this season.

It’s possible that the injury was a hairline fracture and not a full break. Either way, it says a lot about Pacioretty’s character that he wasn’t looking to make excuses even while the vultures were out about his slow start.

It also shows that you shouldn’t be so quick to judge a player because there could be other things below the surface.

In the report, Engels did not say when or how the injury occurred. He also says the injury is now healed.
