TVA Sports journalist Louis-André Larivière has received information from Martin Reway’s agent, and it appears that the young Slovak forward will miss the entire season due to an unspecified illness that has kept him in a Slovakian hospital for the last month.

Although information is sparse, he has been confined to the hospital for several weeks, including being moved into intensive care. It also seems as if Reway himself confirmed via instagram that he won’t be playing this year.
The Canadiens are yet to confirm any information regarding his illness. We will reach out to Reway’s agent as soon as possible and update this post with any news.
The Montreal Canadiens selected Reway in the fourth round of the 2013 entry draft, 116th overall. He signed an entry level contract during the summer. As a result of the illness he will technically be placed on LTIR and burn the first season of his entry level contract, similar to to Tim Bozon.
We wish him well and hope that he makes a speedy recovery.
