PuckDrop Podcast with forward Broc Little

Broc Little might be unknown to the North American public but on the European side of the Atlantic he has made quite an impression; winning the goal scoring race 2015, finishing second in goals scored 2016, and finishing second in points of the SHL this season while placing fifth in goals.

As his contract with Linköping was set to run out, teams from the NLA and KHL were looking to the Arizona born winger to get help with scoring for next season. [Update: A few days after this pod was recorded Broc Little signed for Davos in the NLA, we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors].

I met Brocin Linköping, where he tells us about the importance of the Wayne Gretzky trade for the southern markets, and what the stars of Arizona Coyotes Tkachuk and Roenick meant for him in particular, but also for hockey in general in Arizona.

A lot of the conversation is about his time in Europe, where he established himself after a successful career at Yale. He delves into his time in the AHL, after his success in Europe caused him to try to make the NHL one last time.

We also touch on the subject of the upcoming Olympics in Korea, the selection of the World Championship squads, and what it means to have a women’s team in the same club.

Broc is a Bruins fan, and the Canadiens – Bruins rivalry is referenced as is the derby between HV71 and Linköping, a similarly intense Swedish rivalry.
