IceCaps Preview: St. John’s set to battle with Albany

Coming off disappointing back-to-back loses to the Utica Comets midweek, the St. John’s IceCaps will look to gain some ground back on the Albany Devils, who are currently five points ahead in the North Division.

Albany comes to the rock having not been beaten in regulation over there last four games. They currently sit in second place in the North Division, one spot ahead of St. John’s. This will be the Devils first visit to Mile One this season. However, the two sides have faced-off three times already, with Albany having the upper-hand, winning on all three occasions.

The Devils are lead by rookie forward John Quennville. The 2014 first-round pick has collected 27 points through 33 games so far. He was recently named to the AHL All Star game.

Memorial Cup Champion Ken Appleb, has been the main man between the pipes for Albany this season. The 21 year old has 11 wins in 16 games, while posting an impressive 1.88 GAA and .930 SV%.

For the IceCaps, Chris Terry will look to extend his nine game point streak this weekend. The winger has six goals and ten assists over that span. St. John’s will be looking for Charles Hudon to get going offensively again. Hudon is healthy and will be in the lineup this weekend.
